My Skincare Products

I do have very dry skin but I do tend to get the odd few spots on my face, so today I decided to write a post on the products that work for me personally and suit my skin type!

Garnier Moisture Match moisturizer - Dry to very dry skin
This thing is litreally my saviour when it comes to my skin. It is a must have in my make up drawers and I use it daily. I went through a bad time with my skin awhile back and I just could not manage the dryness of it until I was introduced to this product by a friend and I haven't looked back since!
The cream is very thick and luxurious, it makes the skin feel very soft. Although the cream is thick is it not greasy at all on the face. It hydrates the face and is a must have product if you have dry skin.

This product costs €7.99 and is available from many drugstores.

Neutrogena Grapefruit Face Wash
I've seen a few bad reviews on this face wash but personally I loved it. I use it twice a day, morning and night and I've seen a huge improvement in my skin since I've started using this. My spots have reduced massively and I tend to not get spots very often as I used to suffer with spots. I rub this product between my fingers before applying to my face. The texture is thick but applies well once rubbed between my fingers first. I think the smell is amazing!Although recently a friend told me that this product makes dry skin oily and this was hugely disappointing to me as I have noticed that my skin has  I'd love some recommendations!
become oily and my make up tends to become horrible through-out the day. I have stopped using this product since and am currently on the look out for a new face wash.

This costs €6.29 and is available from many outlets nationwide.

Neutrogena Grapefruit Daily Scrub
As I have dry skin I tend to need an exfoliater for my face, I have tried out many different exfoliaters and as I got the face wash I decided to get the scrub also. After using this product my skin feels so clean and soft. I think this has also contributed to the fact that I no longer get spots as much as I used to. This product is designed to eliminate spots and that's exactly what it does. The smell isn't too overpowering it has a nice scent to it!

€6.29 from outlets nationwide

Soap and Glory - DR Spot
Honestly I don't know how I lasted so long without this product. It is a gel that you rub on your spots even if you feel a spot coming on you just pop a bit of this product on your skin and let it work its magic. I've been using this for a good few months now and my spots have rapidly disappeared. The product stings when you put it on but the way I think is if it stings, it's doing it's job! I would highly recommend this product to anybody who is suffering with spots or acne as it is a brilliant product!

Avalible from boots and it retails at €9.99

LUSH Face Mask - Mask of Magnaminty
Again this product is designed for acne prone skin, although I don't suffer from acne I do tend to get an odd spot so I decided to pick up this face mask while I was shopping. I use this mask once every 1-2 weeks and I love it. There is a strong peppermint smell from the product which I am not very fond of but I do love the feel of my skin after I use this product. It leaves my skin so soft and fresh. It definitely does help with my spots as do all the products I've mentioned above. I love using products that eliminate spots who doesn't?!

I can't remember how much this cost but it was in and around €6 or €7

LUSH - Tea Tree Toner
Anything with tea tree is a must have as I  have said I do suffer from spots the odd time and I like to get rid of them as soon as possible! I've seen a few people like Zoella write about this product so I decided I would give it a try! I use this twice a day morning & night and I just spray it directly onto my face before moisturizing. I do believe this does contribute to keeping my spots away and will definitely be repurchasing!
Anything with tea tree in it is a must have for me as

Again I cannot remember the price but it's not too much!

I hope this helps if you have acne-prone or dry skin,

REVIEW: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

I know, I'm a little late to the party with this post but I just could not decide weather I wanted this foundation or not. I think this is every beauty bloggers favorite foundation and I've wanted it for so long but I just never took the plunge and as I have dry skin I heard this foundation was great for that so finally after reading many reviews I decided to pop into Brown Thomas and get a sample of the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.

Immediately when I got home I applied the foundation and needed the full size. I received a lot of money after I got my Leaving Cert results so I decided I was going to treat myself to this foundation. My shade in this foundation is "Deauville" and it matches my skin perfect. The coverage of this foundation is definitely buildable. I apply this using my Real Techniques Stippling Brush, Buffing Brush or Miracle Complexion Sponge, Which ever I feel like using when applying my make up.

When I first applied Nars Sheer Glow I loved it, as the day went on I felt like I needed to touch up my make up with powder because I felt my skin looked a little oily as I have dry skin I was kind of shocked by this. My foundation looked dull by the end of the day and I just could not wait to take my make up off. I am a little disappointed because of this but I will continue to use this foundation until I find a way that it lasts well on my skin and looks well throughout the day. I never usually need to touch up my make up but when using this foundation that isn't the case.

Nars Sheer Glow foundation costs €40, the pump is not included it costs an extra €4 for the pump.

Have you tried this foundation? Let me know in the comments what you thought of it.                                                           Thank-you for reading, Leah x

REVIEW: Dream Dots!

When these arrived in the post I was so excited to try them. I've heard many good things about these dream dots and have been dying to try them. I got in touch with the people at Dream Dots and they agreed kindly to send me out their product to review for my blog. Although I've been sent these Dream Dots this does not effect my review, My review is my honest opinion and the PR sample does not effect my opinion.

Dream Dots are an overnight spot treatment to help clear breakouts. You apply the dot before you got to bed and let the dot work overnight, in the morning you remove the dot and cleanse your skin.
I've been battling with a spot on my face for the past week now, no matter what I used the spot would just not go away, so I could not wait to try Dream Dots. I put the dot on my face before I went to bed and when I woke up I could not believe what the dot had done. The spot had gone down, reduced redness and now the spot is barely noticeable. I was so impressed as I've been battling for the past week to get rid of this angry spot but with Dream Dots it disappeared after just one use. After using Dream Dots I cannot imagine not having them in my life. I think they are an essential to anybody, they're so easy to use and when I run out of the ones I have, I will definitely repurchase. If you've an important event coming up Dream Dots is your friend, it'll get rid of that nasty spot in no time!

Dream Dots cost €15 for 24 dots and are available from pharmacy's nationwide or at www.dreamdotsforspots.com

My Favorite Foundation!

I think my all time favorite foundation would have to be Mac Studio Sculpt.

Everytime I do my make up this is the foundation I reach for. My shade in this foundation is NW15. This foundation comes in a tube which doesn't really bother me, I squeeze out a bit at a time so there is no waste. I myself have dry skin and the gel consistency of this foundation really helps to keep my face moisturised. Also, unlike other foundations it does not highlight my dry skin or stick to dry patches on my face.

The coverage on this foundation is medium but it's definitely buildable. A little goes a long way with this product which I love as it lasts me a very long time. I first bought this foundation in September of 2013 and I only ran out in July of 2014 so it really does last a very long time. When I knew I was running out of this product I ran out and bought a new one, I couldn't be without it!

I use a primer under my foundation but this product does last all day on my face and at the end of the day I do not look like I need to touch up its a long lasting foundation. The texture of this foundation is soft and blendable, the women working in MAC recommended that I apply the product with my fingers but I personally prefere to use my Real Techniques Stippling Brush followed by my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to make sure the foundation is really worked into my skin.

MAC Studio Sculpt costs €36.50
Have you tried this foundation? What do you think of it?

REVIEW: Seventeen Instant Glow Cream Bronzer!

I absolutely love contouring, I love contouring my face when applying my make up as I feel it changes the shape of the face completely.

Before I used to use the Bourjois Paris "Delice de Poudre" or the Sleek Contour Kit in the shade light. I must admit this is my new all time favorite bronzer. I apply this product to my cheekbones, my hair line and a little bit on my temples. I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush to apply this and a Stippling brush to blend it in. The creamy texture of this product made it super easy for me to blend it in to my skin. The colour of the bronzer is not to dark so it blends into my foundation perfectly. The colour builds up well. I like to use this for contouring as I like to have a natural contour and don't like having harsh lines and this product is perfect as it blends so easy!

I think if you're a beginner this product is perfect for you it's so simple and easy to use.

Seventeen Instant Glow Cream Bronzer costs €6.29 available from all Boots outlets nationwide.

MAC Lipstick Collection

Ask anyone who knows me and I bet they will tell you about my lipstick addiction. I just cannot stop buying lipsticks so I decided to share with you all of my MAC lipsticks so far..

Snob: This was my very first mac lipstick which I bought in April of last year while I was in Paris. This lipstick has a satin finish. It applies so easy and smooth. The colour is perfect it is not too much and it's not too little it's just the right shade. It is a cool-toned pink with a purple tone to it.

Rebel: This lipstick also has a satin finish. I just adore the colour of this lipstick, although before I bought it I was a bit wary as I have small lips and pale complexion so I thought that this lipstick might look a bit weird on me but I didn't care I just had to have it. I bought it and fell in love instantly. It's a perfect fuchsia purple colour, it comes off creamy but the intensity of a matte. I myself wouldn't wear this colour on a day to day basis but I think it's the perfect colour on a night out with a nude eye so that the attention is on this beautiful colour.

Creme cup: I was looking for a nude colour for so long and decided to pick up this. It is the perfect pinky shade nude. This is a cremesheen finish. It is creamy and slightly glossy. It does tend to settle in fine lips so I would recommend using a lip pencil underneath. This lipstick does not build up well I find the more I apply it, it begins to look streaky and I have to rub it with my finger to remove the streaky look.

Rose Lily: Rose lily came out with the Fantasy of flowers collection and I just had to have this colour. It is a lustre finish. It is a light cool toned pink with blue undertones. The colour payoff is great and looks the same on the lips as it does in the bullet. The texture is creamy so the colour just glides on your lips.

Strip poker: This lipstick was limited edition from Sharon and Kelly Osbourne's MAC collaboration. This particular lipstick was from Kelly's line and has a matte finish. I do love this lipstick but I think you need a nude lip liner with it as when I first used it I looked like I had just put my foundation on my lips, I really did not like it until I went and bought a nude liner. I always use the Essence lip liner in the shade Kinda sexy and it looks great paired together

Viva Glam Rihanna: I love the packaging of this lipstick that is what instantly drew me in but then I seen the colour and I loved it so again I needed it in my collection. The red is blue based but the lipstick is a frost and has gold flecks it warms the colour making it look a warmer colour. The red pigment in the product is blue toned but the flecks of gold makes it overall more warm toned

Pleasure Bomb: it described as a matte fuchsia shade. It is one of the most vibrant and vivid blue based fuchsia with red undertones. This shade can look good on any skin tone as it has a balance mixture of colors. Usually blue based fuchsia are not considered as wearable by many cause it looks quite neon in person. Personally I don't wear this lipstick that much as I think it's too bright for me but I do love the colour of it.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my MAC lipstick collection! Leah x

August Favourites

What better way to introduce you all to my blog than with an August favorites post.

Recently I purchased Mac Fix Plus and I have been trying it out for about a month now and all I can say is what did I do before this product?! it's simply amazing!

Fix+ is a skin refresher/finishing mist. It is to be applied before or after make up to freshen your face. Personally I spray it on my Real Techniques Stippling Brush before applying my foundation then when all my make up is finished I will spray my entire face with Fix+, It is recommended you do not hold the spray too close to your face. This product removes the "caked" look from your face if you over did it on the powder or simply just refreshes your face on a hot day (not that we get many of them in Ireland)

Fix+ is €20 for 100ml

My next favorite is this Ralph Lauren Big Pony 4 perfume. It is described with a floral-oriental composition created of wild cherry and violet amber. It's scent is very fruity and sweet which personally I love. It's not an overpowering perfume unlike others out there. It's a fine spray so it drys on the skin almost instantly. When I run out I will definitely be re-purchasing this perfume. At the moment it is my go-to perfume and I wear it every day and receive numerous complements on it's scent.

Ralph Lauren Pony 4 costs €48 for the 50ml bottle.

Finally my last favorite, another Mac product, it is a frost blusher "Margin" I completely fell in love with this product when I seen it on my brothers girlfriend. It is the most flattering colour for any skin tone. I received this blusher from my brother as a present when I got my Leaving Cert results and I have not stopped using it since I got it.

This blush has a slight shimmer to it which gives the cheeks a lovely glow, it gives your face a really healthy look. This blush has great colour pay off and acts as a bronzer also. It is a very neutral shade in coral. Although its a Frost don't be put off as it's the most gorgeous blush ever.

Mac frost blushers cost €23
